Mystery Picnic Flight

Your mystery picnic begins in Strathalbyn (with an add-on option for departure from Hahndorf), where you’ll step aboard your private helicopter and take off for a scenic flight over the breathtaking Adelaide Hills. As you fly above rolling vineyards and untouched countryside, the anticipation builds, because your picnic destination is a surprise.   

Touch down in a carefully selected picturesque location, where a private picnic awaits, all set against the backdrop of South Australia’s stunning landscapes. Waiting for you is a handcrafted gourmet spread, featuring the best of the Adelaide Hills with artisanal cheeses, antipasto, and locally sourced produce, all perfectly paired with a bottle of premium wine. Once you’ve finished your leisurely picnic, it’s time for one final thrill; hopping back into your helicopter for a scenic return flight, giving you one last breathtaking view of the hills before touching back down in Strathalbyn.

Cost: $790 per person 

Experience Duration: 3 hours 

Timing: 11:00am – 2:00pm (approximately) 

Experience Dates: We operate 7 days per week, departing daily from 11:00am.

Flight Route:  Start your journey from Strathalbyn and explore a scenic flight to a picturesque picnic location, followed by a scenic flight over the Adelaide Hills and back to your starting location.  

Pick up / drop off location: South Australian Helicopters (optional extra at checkout for departure from Hahndorf)

Arrival: Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled experience start time 

Note: Slight variations to the experience may be made dependent on weather.  

What you need to know... 

• A maximum individual weight of 136kg, maximum combined weight of 3 passengers is 270kg. 

• We can accommodate groups of 2-6 people. Our R44 seats 3 passengers, so for bookings of 4 or more, we will operate with 2 trips to each location, with 3 passengers on board each flight. 

• We fly with the front doors off! Pending the weather, we always fly with our doors off, as we’ve found that the open-air flight adds another level to the experience! If you’d prefer to fly with doors on, please let us know a minimum of 24 hours prior to your departure date. 

• We are able to provide Adelaide Airport and Hahndorf helicopter transfers, with this being an add on cost at check out for relevant experiences.  

• We can also provide recommendations for car transfers, as we do not include transfers to the starting location as part of this experience, unless it is selected as an add on option at checkout or you email us to arrange this direct. 

• We are able to provide a custom price for accommodation pick up and drop off for your experience, as well as longer flights or personalised experiences. Please email info@southaustralianhelicopters.com.au
